Single Use Drip Bags
Our selection of pour-over packs come in three flavours that should satisfy the cravings of any coffee lover that’s short on time:
- Uganda – Milk Chocolate Nuts
- Guatemala – Full Dark Chocolate
- Sidamo – Light zesty red fruits
Better coffee without the grind.
How did BeanCurious decide to get on the single-use pour-over trend? Well, let me tell you a story. I was invited to climb up something with seven of my semi-fit friends to a trail called “Tiger’s Roar” out in Lantau. I was told it would be a casual 7km climb, and when we got to the peak we could make some posh coffee then hike back down.
Two hours and only 1.5km into the hike we had clambered up dry creaks and rappelled across waterfalls using exposed roots. My friend had barely managed to dodge a cascading rock the size of small dog but 10 times heavier, barely missing his foot. We dragged our tired, broken bodies over jagged, loose rocks until we finally collapsed at the base of a shear cliff called “Hades Wall”.
As I gazed at people climbing up the insane “trail” made of exposed rocks going up what could only be a 40 degree, 200 meter ascent on their hands and knees, clinging to the rocks for dear life and knowing that I would be going up that next I thought, “If I’m going to plummet to my death, I’m going to need a cup of coffee first.”

Fortunately we came prepared. Whipping out our tins, we boiled some water post-haste and poured the steaming hot liquid over some fine, dark chocolate and nutty grounds, and proceeded to slowly sip pure bliss while looking out over the shimmering Hong Kong coast.

I didn’t appreciate these pour-over bags when our roaster and the BeanCurious team first introduced them to me. They looked clumsy, only marginally more convenient, wasteful and I assumed, not very tasty. So I begrudgingly took a few packs with me camping, hiking and stay-cationing to give it a try.
And you know what? This coffee is pretty good. Not as good as when you have a trusty grinder, scale, kettle in hand and a half-hour free to gently grind, pour, wait and contemplate which breakfast option in your fridge has the least calories good. But very, very good when you have nothing but some ash-speckled water boiled in a camp fire, have no other option but the watery, burnt comes-in-a-capsule hotel coffee, or when you’ve only got 5min at the office until you adjust your camera before the next zoom call.
If you’re a skeptic like I was, give these a try next time you’re in the weeds and need a quick cup of something good.
And in case you are wondering, I didn’t end up dying on Hades wall but omg what a day.
