Burundi, also called the “Land of a Thousand Hills,” is a tiny country surrounded by Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Coffee is their primary cash crop, and the farmers have mastered the art of sustainable mountain agriculture. They understand and respect the delicate balance of their environment, and they only grow Arabica coffee.
Expect a heavy mouthfeel, flavors of lemon, black tea, delicate hints of spiced clove, and a sweet nutty finish.
- Roaster’s Choice – Our most popular option roasted to Full City range is slightly on the dark side of the coffee spectrum. At this level there is a stronger emphasis of spiced clove and nuts which are balanced against a hint of fresh lemons. Great for most coffee making methods including espresso.
- Light – Roasted to city roast, you’ll experience more lemon, black tea and cloves at this level. You’ll really get a strong sense of the place of origin. Great for delicate brewing methods like pour-over
- Dark to Espresso – Much more clove and nuts with just a touch of lemon in the finish. Perfect for espresso machines.
No pre-Ground beans?
All of our coffees come whole bean. Once ground coffee sheds its flavour fast. If you care enough about coffee to get freshly roasted beans, then get a burr grinder.
